When Kathryn and I were diving near Little Gibraltar on the front side of Catalina last Monday September 3 we found a rock formation with a high spot of about 20 ft. and a nice wall that drops off to deeper than we had bottom time to go to. Kathryn found this plaque the proclaimed this to be the "Bill Kroll Hi Spot."

The text reads as follows:
Bill Kroll Hi Spot
in the memory of a great friend
who dives every time we do.

Do you know the history behind this plaque, who placed it, and who Bill Kroll was?
