These are among the most ornate and beautiful creatures on earth. What i find so amazing is that these two fish came up into the shallows together at the end of their lives... If you notice the picture of the pair of them on the surface, it looked like one of them had a crest and the other one didn't. Perhaps that was a mating pair who have been together for years. These fish eat planktin and tiny crustations so they do not need to feed collectively like schooling fish. So what drew them together and kept them together all the way to the surface?

Reminds me of those wayward Mantas. They could have been traveling together for weeks or months to get all the way into these waters. What kept them together on their long journey? When traveling at night, how did they communicate in order to stay together?

There is so much of nature that is beyond our ability to comprehend~
