The section reads "Limit: 7. It does not say anything more. It is the fin fish regulations that use the phrase "taken or possessed by any one person." Presumably DFG is reading in that language to the section on crustaceans in interpreting the section.

Clearly DFG is not going to go checking on people's home freezers. The best that can be hoped for is people are made aware of the 7 total interpretation and most will comply. The jerks that knowingly flaunt the law are the same ones who cut in line or tie up traffic to make the illegal turn because they are simply more important than the rest of us. It takes all kinds.
