On Friday November 2nd and Saturday November 3rd the Pacific Coast Chapter of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society will hold their annual meeting at the Catalina Resort and Spa in the city of Avalon on Catalina Island.

The Saturday portion of the meeting is DIVER’S DAY and is open to ALL SPORT AND PROFESSIONAL DIVERS. The Friday portion of the meeting will be directed towards Hyperbaric Medical Professionals or people interested in a hyperbaric medicine (information on the Friday portion of the program can be found at www.pacificuhms.org)

Topics for Diver’s Day include: Detecting and Treating Decompression Illness in Divers; Mammalian Adaptation to Diving and Their Human Counterparts; Medical Problems of Breath Hold Divers; How Bad Is the Health of Our Oceans Today - Facts and Fiction; Everything Divers Should Know About Their Ears; Fish Identification in the Waters of Southern California; Poisonous Marine Animals; I Have Asthma - Can I Dive?; DAN Update on Rebreathers.

In Association with Scuba Luv Dive Shop a night dive is available after DIVERS DAY and a 2 tank boat dive on Sunday November 4th toward the Isthmus. Between dives the surface interval time will be spent docked at the Isthmus with a Tour and Presentation at the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber by Karl Huggins.

Registration fee for DIVER’S DAY (Saturday) which includes continental breakfast and snacks at breaks:

$ 45.00 - registration after Oct 15, 2007 (at the door)
