I agree with Jim. Now is a good time to dive. In my experience, October has always been the best month, but November and December can be good to. That is if we don't get any storms. Catalina is a great place to dive if you want to have a nice shore excursion and if you like deeper dives with walls and crevices, they have an area called Farnsworth Banks that's located a couple miles off the island and start in 70' and then drops deep. Also, if you can get to the outer islands like San Nicholas, San Clemente, Santa Barbara, or San Miguel, then you are in for a real treat!!! Those trips tend to be over night or two day trips though, so hopefully you have some time.
