Why did you put your fin in the bag? You're responsible for your own gear anyway - learn to secure it especially in a dinghy. You're darn lucky he reimbursed you for the bag.

A fin is worth far less than a friend who takes you out on his boat to a lobster site.

No sympathy here... suck it up and move on.
