I always put my gear in my bag, just so it's more secure and in one place, and collected. Whenever I kayak dive, this is what I do to make sure everything is together. I'm just glad that in this incident, I hadn't put the other gear into the bag that I normally do.

He wasn't a friend, per se; he was more of an acquaintance who invited me to come dive.

I think what bothers me most is that at first he seemed willing to replace the stuff that he had improperly stowed, and then turned cold and accusatory and defensive about it.
