I have a friend that dove with Don Wobber many years ago at jade cove. They were the ones that got the 9 thousand pound solid jade boulder out of there back in 1974. Don hiked that hill doing 5 tanks a day in his retirement years all the way up till he was in his late 70's. He just turned 80 years old and still dives jade cove but now he has a young intern who helps him out with his gear in return for knowledge about Jade collecting and carving. Don took up making jade sculpture in his later years and sells his work for lots of money. He lives in Asilomar by Monterey. He is probably the number one authority on everything to do with Jade Cove.

I will have to make a pilgrimage down that way soon and camp out in the back of my Toyota at the campgroung that's close by.
Maybe I'll tie it in with a trip to the Channel Islands.
