Interesting slug. Might be Dendrodoris behrensi. I've only seen it once and the one I saw was white (like in the book) but apparently it also comes in "pale cream" color which looks like a good match for you animal. The other likely suspect would be Dialula sandiegensis. If the body of the slug was smooth it's probably Dendrodoris behrensi, if it was fuzzy then more likely Dialula.
