Yet another great dive at Vets!!!

The wind was a little strong last night and the ocean was bit choppy. Entry was interesting because of the low tide. We had to walk a ways out till we could put our fins on. The wind waves and chop was not only on the inside, it went out to almost the end of the pier.

When we dropped down the vis was pretty good. We made our way to around 80-90 feet without delay. Our plan was to see if there was anything interesting going on at 90 or so and then make our way back up the canyon to the salad bowl to look for critters. We saw few Octo’s on the way out but none on the way back in…lol The visibility was good enough to have Angelique go off and look for stuff while I shoot. There were tons of crabs as normal. Some huge Sheep Crabs made an appearance along with many Yellow Crabs.

We took our time sifting through the salad bowl area and found that there were good amount of critters out. On the way back in, we spotted a crab munching on a pipe fish. At first it looked like eel grass but after further inspection it was the lower ½ of a pipe fish. No Baby GSB’s were spotted. Hopefully next time we will hit the jackpot.

Below are some highlights from the dive:
