I took a vacation day to finish off a tank I used last week. The surf at Vet's in Redondo Beach was low. It's nice to be in the protection of Catalina from the southerly swells. As is typical during the day, there was not a lot of animal life out, but I did manage to find a few octopus, sand dabs, skeleton shrimp, hydroids, turbots, fringeheads and three nudibranchs. The Hermissenda crassicornis was on the same clump of algae as the Polycera atra. Vis was very nice for Vet's. 15-18 feet vis and 58F water made it nice and comfortable to move around despite losing my compass. If anyone finds a compass with two black bungees near the first parking space by the pier, let me know. :(
