Besides the imager and megapixel rating, I also wonder about the optics they use on those puny cameras as compared to a full size SLR style.
I know that in the film days 35mm film was 35mm film. If you used the same film and took a photo with a cheap small camera as opposed a full size camera with exeptionally high quality lenses the difference was huge.
I wonder how much this factors in to the equation.
