Thanks Phil - it is a huge "web of death" - how to get rid of it?

I plan to post my pics after they are processed. I think it was one of the most haunting things that I have ever seen. Dead mammal, after dead mammal, after dead diving bird, after another dead mammal. Huge sheep crabs becoming entangled as they tried to get to the dead sea lions and birds.

It needs to be removed and I'm not sure how - It is a floating net of death that seems to go on forever. We couldn't travel very far due to the depth/time thing and on the second dive I counted 12 dead sea lions, six dead birds, and too many to count ensnared crabs. If every section of that net is like what we saw it is a huge weapon of mass marine life destruction.
