The beauty is that the surface swims are very short. Typically you drop down where the reef starts. You can tell from shore as this is where the water changes color. Most of the sites have a sloped drop-off, so it's easy to dive at the depth you want. There is usually no reason to go deep, we never went deeper than 80 feet. It's also easy to come up slow right across the sand back to the truck. There is always stuff to find and photograph in the shallows.
