As I know you've seen, there are black flags scattered throughout Huntington Flats. Commercial dive boats frequently take divers there to visit places like the wrecks of the Olympic II, Moody and oil rigs. Private charters visit other sites like the Ace One, Gambler, FS Loop, Johanna Smith wrecks and Caissons, plus many other rockpiles and wrecks visited by private boaters. I have removed a few nets from the Olympic and some of the little-known wreck in the area, yet they come back each year. I saw a black flag just a couple hundred yards off the Pt. Fermin buoy yesterday. Clearly these nets and shallower than the legal limit of 420 feet. We need to keep contacting the DFG until the nets are removed and/or the owners are forced to retrieve them. Sunday's dives are two+ that I will never forget.
