The nets are out there during the grey whale migration. Every year we get reports of whales sited with nets and floats wound around them. Some people have attempted to rescue the whales, too often, the whale dies. The whale census is run between Dec. 1st and May 15th. That would be a decent time span to have those killer nets banned. Do not forget, the whales travel both within the channel and around the back side of Catalina.

You can go out now and see those damn black flags bowing in the breeze, marking killer nets below. So, who can we fine for violation of 8575 (f) ?
