Yes, that's one of the changes being made.
I'm not familiar with too many other wings besides Oxycheq but I know people have adapted other brands to work with my plate.

On the new design the slots are spaced 2" appart laterally and elongated to a little over 3" and the gap between the top and bottom slots is way less. All this was to make it work hand and glove with the Mach V, but I also think it will open up the opportunity for almost every other brand wing out there that has factory slots to be used with the Freedom Plate.
