All valid points. Just so happens that the one time I could have practiced buddy breathing I felt that My safety was in jeopardy. I enjoy my long time dive buddies, but we feel the number one reason to have a buddy is to enjoy the experience together. All the benefits of having a buddy are always there, but if we so happen to separate while under, we just continue the dive. Each dive is different. Shallow, familiar spots we tend to relax on the buddy system. Other times, we all stick together. I guess my main point here is that if I find myself completely alone under water, I am very comfortable with that.
