Have the squid vanished from Redondo?

It seems the squid run at Redondo has reduced to almost nothing in the past few years. It seem that the number of breeding squid is inversely proportional to the ever increasing squid fleet. Purse seiners from Alaska as well as go after the squid every night.
Has the heavy concentration of squid boats fishing off Redondo and Palos Verdes fished out the local squid population?
Are the large squid runs at Redondo now a thing of the past?
