Monastery is a beach that deserves a great deal of respect. You
have to walk away from it half the time over the year, 2/3 or more
in winter. It kills divers who disrespect it. Most recently on
12/28.

Think Farnsworth Bank as a beach dive, but with with big breaking
waves on the beach.

The single best lesson I got from OW class was the day we didn't
dive Monastery. It's OK to not dive (or dive somewhere else)

Monastery also require some local knowledge about how and where
to get in and out. It kicks the shit out of, and steals gear
from, divers who don't know the drill.

Seek local knowledge. I'd strongly recommend not going there
without an experienced Monastery diver to show you the ropes.

Note that each reservation at Lobos is for a team, not a diver.
