With the snowy San Gabriel Mountains as a backdrop, the day couldn't have been much more perfect. Well, a little visibility under water would have been nice. My buddy Marc and I set out for Flat Rock so he could feed his starving family a few measly lobsters and I could look for my little nudibranch friends. After three dives, Marc only managed three bugs, but at least he can eat tonight. :) As I caught sight of the bottom through the greenish tint I immediately began spotting one specie of nudi after another. I saw fifteen altogether. There were also a few different rockfish representing the reef. Vis on the reef wasn't horrible, but the water column was a green snowstorm. Water temps ranged from 55F to 58. The west side of Palos Verdes was dirty and a little rough, but the southside looked great. It looks like I'll be dragging my little red wagon down to Marineland in the morning.
