Yesterday February 16, 2008 I went to the Oil Rig Eureka aboard the Sea Bass. Early Saturday morning when I first arrived I discovered that the Sea Bass had moved. It is no longer next to the Magician, but is now at the end of the parking lot near the Psalty V. The gate for the boat is next to the helicopter ride booth. The boat was charted by Hollywood Divers. They had a very light load, only two other divers besides me. Ed and Neil were both planning tech dives. I was dropped off at Eureka first since Ed and Neil needed more time to get rigged up. The visibility for the first dive was 60 feet+. The water temperature was 55 °F. While on the dive I saw Neil and Ed descend and come back for the deco stops. For the second dive I went in alone since Ed and Neil needed more surface interval. They were ready to get in just as I returned from dive 2. The visibility dropped to about 30 feet for this dive, but the temperature was unchanged. On dive 3 I again went in alone. I took my wide-angle setup this dive. The visibility had increased slightly to about 40 feet. It may have just been due to the brighter light from the midday sun. It was a great day of diving. The service from Captain Richard and his crew was outstanding. It was very nice to have the rig to myself most of the day. . . . . Chris Oil Rig Eureka aboard the Sea Bass February 16, 2008
