I don't know about "better," but Vet's is different. It's a sandy slope on the edge of an underwater canyon; during the day it is usually boring, but at night the life comes out. It seems to be a nursery for many species, and on different dives you might see a load of baby octopus, or baby horn sharks, or whatever. There are usually other distinctive fish such as sarcastic fringeheads. Even so, you have to readjust your expectations from a typical dive on a rock reef or in kelp -- you're basically cruising over a desert with pockets of life here and there.

Vet's is definitely worth checking out. If you're in Glendale, you might also consider night dives in Malibu and at Malaga Cove in Palos Verdes.
