Small decorator crabs are very difficult because of the camouflage. I look at the shape of the claws and body. This is not always possible from many photos. In the link I posted you there were four photos of the small crabs. Those four were the only good ones where the crab was visible out of over 100 crab photos from that dive. In many of the others the decorations along with the background make seeing them in a photo all but impossible.
