wow... while I agree with your philosophy regarding deep stops, I have to question the decision to dive the Rigs last weekend at all with the conditions clearly not safe...
as evidenced by your quick trip to the surface from 18ft.
Also, the live boat pickup with the large swell would also have been more dangerous than a prudent diver, or boat captain, should have felt comfortable with.

Just my 2 cents.
