You can go to the DFG website and e-mail them (in detail) on what you are exactly wanting to do with the DPV and ab diving. They will respond with either an e-mail or phone call on the legality of ab diving with or use of a DPV...An e-mail response back is best if it is legal, as you can printout the e-mail and stow it with your gear. Then you'll have it, should you be stopped by a field officer.
