The old cave is @ the East end of the cove beach (@ the base of the jetty). You could miss it if you enter @ the mid cove and go North, or enter @ Point and slip out @ the "mid" cove.

The local lore is the cave was used as a spot to render whale bluber by the Portugese, the cave has been used as a "location" site for Hollywood for many years from "Seahunt" to "The Lost Boys", MANY links abound. Search:

Dry Cave Report:
Long Point, 50 feet "in", just past the ambient light source, me an Greg tide off the 300' reel, whew!
...2 hand held 4 C lights and another 20 feet forward and we DROPPED, wow!... almost another 6' foot "plunge" into a narrow but beer bottle riddled corridor, "facinating", 20 more cathedral like steps and a short climb up 8 feet and now your near the end.
YAWN!!! the cave is basic, BUT the geology was COOL!
