Yesterday, our group paddled out to the Redondo Artificial reef/barge for a kayak dive. Susie stayed topside on her kayak and shot some pictures of us gearing up. On the paddle out the water looked clean and clear, so we had hopes that the vis had improved after Max Bottomtime’s report from the previous day. Our hopes faded on the descent when we hit a cold, dirty, and dark thermocline all the way to the bottom. It was like a night dive in very poor vis. My dive watch registered 49 degree water, while Fred’s recorded 52. Overall, it was a nice day on the water and we look forward to getting out there again with some better vis and warmer water. We all worked up quite an appetite on the paddle/dive and post dive lunch at wahoo's was expecially good.

Here’s a few macro shots from the barge. With only a few inches of dirty water between the subjects and the lens the pictures didn’t seem to be too badly affected by the poor vis.
