It seems to me that fish pay more attention to bubbles than anything else. They're noisy.
When free diving deep with a gun, the fish mostly ignore me, though some places they do seem to recognise guns, especially
shallow.
I have been diving when all of a sudden a bunch of fish go by staying low in the rocks. If I look up, they are 20 feet in
front of some divers. The divers never know they are there.
I learned to herd fish down the reef, swim up 20 feet, then drop down 30 feet past where I went up. The fish are sitting
there waiting in the rocks.
