"Clear Thinking"? Not really. Clear thinking would mean that at least one of them would have thought to bring a safety sausage. The boat crew did not forget these divers, they looked but could not see then because they surfaced 200 yards away from the boat. It is very hard to see some one's head floating at that distance. Back when I had a boat I'd done man overboard drills and even when you know where to look, 200 yards is just to great a distance. But those orange sticks are easy to see. They did not even have a dive light so they could signal the aircraft that flew over them at night.
