Dear Goldenbear,

Empire Scuba in Redlands may be a little closer to your friends. They have a number of very enthusiastic instructors, including owner, Cherry. Becky and Jason at Private Scuba are also dynamite, and Dolphin Dive in Arcadia is bound to be one of the more economical alternatives. Ocean Adventures of Venice also has some wonderful instructors and great rental gear. A number of us independent instructors are around who do privates too. I am sorry my schedule won't allow. I love introducing new people to our ocean and think its one of the best places to learn.
