Went snorkeling at Nicolas Canyon county park today. Kelp was very healthy and thick and the vis ranged from 10 outside the kelp to 30+ feet inside it. Lots of senioritas and small calicos that came right up to us at the surface. Dove down to the reef which had a thriving community of stars, some urchins and sheep crab (memo to self: bring weight belt next time!). Quite a lot of bait fish out as the pelicans were having a feast. Light sourtherly swell with some 3 to 4 foot sets, then nice lulls for easy entry / exit. No blooms yet - water is a bit cool still. Leo also looked really good today.

Should be good tomorrow also - dive early!
