We're staying local this summer and supporting our local boats. The fuel surcharge / price increases hurt, but can't blame the skippers. Fortunately, when everyone else was buying SUV's and trucks we bought a Corolla, which helps our dive driving as we're getting close to 41 MPG and can fit our gear in the trunk. We should conserve, open up coastal and ANWR to new drilling, and ease the permitting process for more refineries, wind, solar and nuclear plants. That'll lower the price of energy. Heaven help us if government get involved / tries to ration again - I remember that fiasco from the 70's. Look waht they've done encouraging bio-fuels - drove the cost of corn sky high.
