Sorry, it was just so timely with those last 2 posts :-)

Please beware that the huge bundled trawl net is still tumbling in the entry/exit zone of OML cove. I met with DFG, Baywatch, UC Davis Marine Debris Removal diver, and a Coast Guard fly over @ the site Tuesday for a Reconn dive to determine the best(cheapest) way to remove this 'Beast'.

LA Co. Baywatch will now send a dive team to attempt removal. UC Davis sub contracts to Urchin divers for this type of work. A commercial diver/salvor is the last and most expensive option for cash strapped public agencies.

Al Laubestein, me and Phil Garner have kept it buoyed and marked the last few weeks, and we made a trip out with the Ocean Defenders Alliance to see if they could handle it, way to BIG. We did however remove 1.5 lob traps, lines, net, chain and 3 anchors from Long Point. Good clean up dives at our favorite site.

LA Co.Lifeguard divers may dive Thursday? or Monday? Stay tuned....
