Walt, sounds like an interesting morning. It's been a while, but I'm remembering the reefs at Nicholas Canyon as being a little upwards of 35 feet deep. When you say you're going to be teaching skin diving techniques, does this mean people will be doing breath-hold dives down to the reef at that depth? I seem to remember that for 3R's you encourage people to go light on their weightbelt so as to remain pretty buoyant -- it'd be hard to get very deep without enough weight to be close to neutral at depth.
