Any other information about this?

Rescue workers transported a diver to shore Sunday when he became ill off the coast of San Pedro.

The 42-year-old man had completed his second dive when crews were called to assist him about 3:35 p.m., said Los Angeles city fire spokeswoman d'Lisa Davies.

When they arrived, the man's speech was slurred, but he had stable vital signs, she said.

A Los Angeles County lifeguard boat helped bring the man to Fire Station No. 112 in San Pedro, where he was treated before being flown by a city fire helicopter to the hyperbaric dive chamber at UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, Davies said.

The man's name was not available. He had been traveling aboard a private dive boat when crews were called to his aid, Davies said. She was unsure of the vessel's exact location.
