Kayak dive to the Redondo Barge |
Posted by Rick Coleman on July 20, 2008 at 21:52:30: Today we did a kayak dive to the Redondo Barge. We launched in Redondo Harbor around 7:45 am. The conditions were nice with a slight breeze and low swell. There were four of us on the dive/paddle – my wife Susie and dive buddies Fred and John. John navigated with his fish finder and GPS. After locating the barge we dropped anchor. My wife Susie and I had our cameras and spent our dive on the barge taking pictures. John and Fred started at the barge and explored the surrounding area. The conditions were very nice and visibility was about 30 feet. The water was a tad chilly at about 52 degrees. Here’s some of our pictures: Polyps: Kissing Hermets: Spanish Shawl with eggs: Strawberry Anemone: Decorated Crab: Painted Greenling: Dining out: Another Spanish Shawl: Susie spent most of her dive photographing the strawberry anemones, here’s some of her shots: Shade Tree: |
