Thought you old-time divers might want to know: This man was one great diver. Owner of Bill's Sporting Goods on the Pier at Cayucos for many years.
William D. Davis, 62, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday July 30, 2008, at a San Luis Obispo hospital.

He was born in Elmira, N.Y., to Clarence and June Davis. His family moved often, but he always lived in the country. It was there that his love of animals and the outdoors began.

At the age of 11 he moved with his family to Pismo Beach and shortly after to Cayucos, where he grew up. He attended Cayucos Elementary School and Coast Union High School in Cambria, where he excelled in sports, especially football and baseball.

Bill worked many years as manager for Williams Bros. Markets, then as owner of Bill's Sporting Goods in Cayucos, and most recently, as a produce vendor. Bill had many interests, but loved the ocean and scuba diving, spending time in the Sierras, hunting, fishing and barbecuing.
