Well Ron i am sorry to have to agree with Walt. The chances of DCS is greatly increased after a procedure such as yours. Swelling and changes in blood flow could impair the release of nitrogen stored in the tissues, possibly increasing your risk of DCS. And symptoms such as pain and numbness, burning can mask the symptoms. With the cases I have followed I would recommend taking up a new sport. Diving in your case might be a serious health risk. My first concern would be your safety. But not knowing your age or medical history...and why the procedure was preformed to begin with. If you are going to continue to pursue diving consult an orthopedic surgeon as he should carefully document your neurological, vascular and functional deficits. As for me I would NOT sign the release to dive.
