My experience with the scout tracker was it didn't work well in the kelp.

It did work well when there was no kelp though, so if you're out there in kelp free water, you might like and find it useful

I'd be glad to sell you the receiver and then you'd only have to buy the transmitter. Let me know. I'll give you a really good deal.

One time I forgot to pull up the transmitter and it was the victim of the propeller! I haven't seen it since. Go figure!
