Main drawback was the fixed lens (so you had to physically get closer or further from your subject) - big deal in the grand scheme of the universe. And you sometimes had to wait for the right time of day for perfect lighting (but that gave time to understand the subject better and resulted in creative angles). Since film and evelopment were expensive, we also tended to limit our shots. Nice walk down memory lane and definitely not dive related... Thanks for posting the article.
