It was a bit cold and windy this morning as we arrived to a full parking lot at Marineland. The closely set waves of yesterday we gone, replaced by the occasional whitecap. We had an easy entry and headed to the outer edge of the reef. Out over the sand was the first angel shark I've seen in 305 dives here. With the surge and sand-filled water I didn't get many pictures today. We stopped and fed Abby. Merry got to feed him/her on her first abalone sighting.
Following the edge of the reef, we found surge and sandy water everywhere. I did manage to find a couple of nudibranchs, including a tiny Polycera atra.
Back in the parking lot, Merry gave her captive audience a lecture about squid gestation and microbiology. Despite the poor vis and surge, it was one of the best days this year.
