The RULE as I always understood it was "Do No Harm". The little I have read about the case indicated that the individual was pulled from the car like a "rag doll". Unless the car was likely to explode then the responder did NOT meet the level of care - Do No Harm. Don't get me wrong - I generally do NOT agree with the radical liberal interpetations coming from the California courts - I'm just not sure this case really changed anything. That said - my position would be just to call 911 and stay clear. However, if the person is truely in grave danger I suspect that my compassion might override my concern for my future financial well-being.
