Thanks for the factual information on AED's.

I believe that an AED should be on every dive boat. You can buy complete AED units for under $1,200. If a diver has a problem and his heart stops, I would rather try to restart it with an AED, than not have one available at least to give it a try.

Better yet, I would hope if my heart needs a jump start that the dive boat has an AED and someone trained (or at least willing) to use it. ;-)

Based on the price of an AED, there is really no legitimate reason for a business who takes people hours away from medical treatment to NOT have an AED on hand.
