I seriously doubt if the "Say When" could make the journey

I only recall the "Rio Rita" going to Baja. They were about the same size and configuration..are you certain that you are not confusing the two boats?

The Rio Rita was owned and operated by George Edwards . It was designed and used as a Rum Runner in the 1930s, therefore very narrow of beam powered by two very powerful ( for that era ) engines...From dock to dive site in 45 minutes. It was rebuilt and sold to John Riffe, brother of Jay of spear gun fame, who operated it out of LaPaz for a number of years prior to John's death.

FYI the Velreron was sold by Jack Kirk to a Chinese gentleman and spent it's last days deteriorating tin Hong Kong harbor
