Otter and I have watched divers being pulled into and out of the surf by thier instructors at Redondo during some classes. One lady yelled out while crying "I hate this; I'll never beach dive again!" and I couldn't blame her afer seeing her get tumbled by poor instruction. Sad. We love beach diving - its inexpensive, easy to plan and schedule and often rivals the best boat dives. You get out of a sport what you put into it. Not everyone playing basketball is a Micheal Jordan - he worked hard to become the player he is. Diving is a sport. You train, you condition, you prepare, you maintain. You don't strap on a tank and expect to dive into any condition. Maybe its the instant gratification or laziness that seems to permeate our society. A couple of lessons and a couple of dives does not a diver make...
