We've been to Roatan and stayed at Fantasy Island resort. We enjoyed it so much our club is going back again this year. The beds are a bit hard, but there are a cool DC-3 plane and ship wrecked right off the resort beach. The only problem with Roatan is bugs...sand fleas. Take DEET or similar or you'll get eaten within a microsecond of hitting the sand.

If you want a REALLY great experience, you have to do the grey reef shark dive with Waihuka Adventures (not related to the resort). One of our best dive experiences ever!
