Yes Leon was an early NAUI instructor and I knew him ever so slightly. As recall his NAUI Instructor number was a double digit number which would indicate certification in the very early 1960s...

He was some what active and visible on the local scene for a year or two perhaps as late as 1964 then disappeared.
It was reported at that time, but at this junction can not be verified, that he had moved back to his native state of Oklahoma.

I would suggest that you contact Cathy Cush at NAUI HQ -- perhaps she may have his last known address.
