To answer your q: Depending upon what you consider a "a few years ago," i.e, within the recent 10 years--then yes--they are essentially the same! I own what I call a "darth-diver," black silicone AGA full face mask with the ABV that is the current mask--with the side note for this diving communitity that I'd only add the comm for another dive bud with the similiar set up with the com--he'd have to be a really good bud. =P The only b*t*h @ times is the equalizition with this mask--which is why it's not always my most favored pieced of equipment.... I still love my AGA so--signed you'res truely--SoCal AGA diver! BooYahh! =P
