I know I'm pretty much wasting my time with this argument, but if the DFG realy wanted to protect lobsters and increase their numbers all they have to do is limit or eliminate the commercial take. The trappers have NO LIMITS on numbers and some areas are carpeted with hundreds of traps that work 24 hours a day all season long. As with most species that they work, I'll bet the commercial guys take 98% of the take. The reality is that they have more money than sport divers and a lobby in Sacramento so things are not likely to change. Despite their ongoing unlimited take, there are still lots of lobster around in most places. They are like roaches....you couldn't get rid of them if you tried. As for letting the big ones go...I do. It's just that my idea of big has evolved over the years....Labugman
